Astrolabe Sauvignon Blanc 2009 – Marlborough Winery of Distinction

Another top tipple from Astrolabe’s winemaker extraordinair Simon Waghorn. This Sauvignon Blanc will have fans of New Zealand Sav Blancs weak at the knees. Containing fruit from the Waihopai,Wairau, and Brandcott Valleys on the South Island – the attention to detail in this wine is such that the fruit was picked in the cool evening to keep the acidity and freshness that makes a good Sav Blanc great.

Pale straw tones combined with its zesty lemon grass and lime nose precede the combination of fruity flavours that make South Island wines so popular. A cool refreshing drop that won the IWSC prize for Sav Blancs back in 2008.
